A couple from Chicago purchased this apartment as a holiday getaway and envisioned transforming it into a relaxing Japandi-style space for entertaining guests. The challenge of this project was to make compliant cosmetic changes to the existing layout without applying for a building permit, while also meeting the clients' high standards for design style and detail.
 

The second bedroom was cleverly designed as a tatami-style space with a raised platform, allowing residents to enjoy tea while taking in the downtown views. The master bedroom was meticulously remodeled, replacing the original small closet with a built-in cabinet that includes a makeup station and full-length mirror, all while accommodating the existing sprinkler system, achieving a perfect balance of functionality and aesthetics.
