Monashee Residence
Floor Plan: 4,715 SF

Mid-century modern style demonstrates the aesthetics of space.

This project is designed for a client, who is a lawyer. The goal is to provide a functional, simple, and bright interior design for their family of three. We kept the vintage elements of the original house, such as the ceiling, while adding wood slats to the living room backdrop and changing the paint color of the living room closet to present a mid-century modern look.

The wall of the bathroom reflects the design beauty of the space and also displays unique characteristics. The well-arranged cabinet design contains simplicity of the lines while providing more storage space. The neutral and earthy colour tone makes the overall design warm and soothing.

Mid-Century Modern Renovation

This 40-year-old townhouse transforms into mid-century modern design after renovation. The wall between the kitchen and the dining area is torn down to increase space for the family; the old wood cabinetry, floor and staircase are replaced with a sleek design. The design of the living room is minimalist without extra ornamentation.

The juxtaposition of pedant light, dining table and chairs show the contrast and balance among different materials. Overall, a calm and relaxing vibe is found in the white-grey colour scheme while functionality and beauty are met for all the spaces in the residence.

Brentwood Town Center Bachelor Suite
Floor Plan : 1,077 SF

This bachelor suite features a Scandinavian design that emphasizes clean lines, minimalism, and functionality without sacrificing beauty. The interior colors rely heavily on neutrals, most notably, bright whites with pops of black and tan.

In response to the owner's living needs, the island and kitchen are designed to be the core of the space, making the space the best gathering place for drinking and chatting with friends. The clever storage space design also maximizes the space utilization of this bachelor suite.

A hidden gem with a luxurious modern twist

This renovation project is from one of the residential units of Fairmont Pacific Rim, rarely known by people, hidden on the upper floorings of this five-star hotel in Downtown Vancouver. By using a mixture of materials and textures, the unit transforms from classical to contemporary decor but still maintains a luxurious style.

Replaced with white marble and cultured stone, the panels of the fireplace and room cabinets convert into a clean and sleek design. Creating a trendy vibe, the elements of metal and stone integrate into wooden cabinets and upholstered leather. To show the magnificence of a five-star hotel, the space uses mirrors and an open layout to broaden the sense of spaciousness.

Modern Farmhouse Hunter Residence

Floor Plan: 2,328 SF

The project seeks to renovate a 60-year-old Japanese-style house by injecting modern farmhouse design elements to enhance functionality and storage space and improve the overall aesthetics. The renovated new house presents a simple and bright space, solving the original problems such as insufficient natural light, damaged walls, and inefficient space layout.

To preserve the young owner's fond memories of the old house, original architectural features such as high-slope ceilings and wooden beams were retained and perfectly incorporated with modern design. The trendy style features neutral colour tones and smooth brass accents to create a visually appealing and refined design.

Burnlake Residence

Floor Plan: 3,025 SF

The clients are a young couple with two children who are looking for a rustic yet comfortable home design style. The wood and stone materials are used to present natural elements and texture while the brass is incorporated to add a modern element to the design.

The design retains the stone fireplace wall, which perfectly matches the new ceiling with the wooden strips to make the place homey. The dark wall paint in the dining area contrasts with the lighter wall paint in other areas, dividing the area of the home wisely. The kitchen area uses light colors to make the small space look bigger and lighter.
